Flemington Review - August 10

Race 1 - VRC Member Paul Barnard Handicap (2530 METRES):

FOLLOW: None. All credit to the winner Jinda who was a big price but is still lightly raced however she was coming out of an average BM70 and was still a maiden runner in the early winter. Very suspect on any of this form going forward.

FORGIVE: Not A Single Cent - 5th. Flat performance but was consistent prior to that whilst I don't think was overly comfortable on the heavy 8 and the tempo of a small staying field was against him. Has been up a while now too.

FORGET: None. Most of these are in the same boat and there was clearly an issue with Hush Writer.

Race 2 - VRC Member Helen Saffin Handicap (1400 METRES):

FOLLOW: Vegas Knight - 3rd. Wasn't suited with the drop back to 1400m following a big maiden win over a mile however he was specked at a price and with the tardy getaway, settled much further back than they'd of anticipated. Flew home and probably should have won.

FORGIVE: Conqueror - 4th. Very well bred colt who presented into this strongly following a lovely run but looked about the most uncomfortable of them letting down on a heavy track. Bolted in to break his maiden fresh and if back on a better surface, might pay to put a line through this.

FORGET: Igniting - 10th.
