Race 2, No. 2 DROP THE GRANGE
Before markets came out, I expected this son of Blackfriars to come up around the $2 favourite, but the bookies have really sided with 11 start maidener British Bessy who is incredibly short at $1.55, that's very very short for a horse that has had plenty of chances. My bloke has had just the two starts and looks to have plenty of upside, straight out in trip here and at the $2.80, he looks nice overs.
Race 5, No. 6 SHE'S ALIGHT
Tavistock filly having her second race start here, was ok on debut passing a few home in the straight over the unsuitable 1100m. Extra 200m today and a pretty weak field, I think this girl can really improve and run into the placings at around $11.
Incredibly, apprentice Brodie Kirby has won 7 of his last 10 rides, all of which were at Ascot in city grade races. He has the four rides today.
Race 4, No. 8 SERENITY BAY
First starter from the all conquering Grant and Alana Williams yard, has had two trials to be ready for this and the punters think she'll be mighty hard to beat on debut, $1.90 into $1.75.
