Race 4, No. 2 MACKELLAR
Does go up in the weights but does stay in the same grade off her last start win where she was dominant and there's nothing here that can realistically beat her off that effort. We all love a mare in form and she's enjoys racing here with the long straight that gives her time to balance up.
Race 8, No. 5 CROOKED GENT
Last start winner here who steps up to the 1200m which shouldn't be an issue and has been a very honest galloper around these areas for a while now. Looks to be good speed in this small field which suits him as he'll get back and is a strong each way chance at around $7.
Stephen Lee is leading the way at Grafton this season with 6 winners and he saddles up 3 runners today.
Race 5, No. 2 NOTHINGFORTHEPRESS
Rather plain effort as a well backed favorite last start at this track and trip but has been supported in the early betting again ($4.20-$3.00).
Leg 1: 2,4,5,7
Leg 2: 2,5,6,9,13
Leg 3: 1,3,4
Leg 4: 2,3,5
$90 gets you 50%.
Race 1: 6-8-10-9. Odds on pop that was backed for a stack on debut and it was still a strong effort under the circumstances. Bigger track/extra 100m are ticks.
Race 2: 4-6-9-2. The betting for this Matthew Dunn first starter might tell us more as otherwise it looks pretty even between the first 3-4 selections.
Race 3: 3-4-8-9. Never keen on these donkey derbies but the Lees runner has less convictions than his opposition.
Race 4: 2-4-6-5. Best Bet see above.
Race 5: 7-5-2-4. Similar race to one here last week and there's little between them. Luck in running will play a big part.
Race 6: 5-13-2-9. Absolute lottery this.
Race 7: 1-4-3-6. Draws much kinder today (last start was his first defeat at this track/trip from 5 attempts) and meets Landmarks 2kg better off.
Race 8: 5-2-3-7. Best Value see above.
