Gold Coast - Saturday August 24

  • Rail Position: Out 0.5m 1400-Winning Post; True Remainder
  • Track Conditions: Good 4
  • Track Comments: They race here most weeks so track should wear well. Medium sized home straight.

Race 3, No. 1 MORENDI

His last two runs have been excellent and the step up to 1800M looks perfect now and also has won over this course. Won't be a worry if Michael Cahill elects to go back from the wide draw as he is a versatile galloper and should be too strong late.

Race 7, No. 11 TWILIGHTER

Worked home beautifully over 1400M and the step up in distance will really suit. Knows the track back to front and this is an open race with the fave Galtero up in weight and distance this mare could cause an upset at $11.

Chris Waller trained mare Race 7 No. 11 Twilighter has run at the Gold Coast at her past 8 starts and throw in 3 trials amongst that. Has a win and 2 seconds at the distance also. Jockey Ryan Plumb rides mostly at this track and strikes at 21%. Plumb has just the one ride in Happy Go Plucky in Race 1.

Race 5, No. 13 MASTERATI

Ran very well first up and has been supported here. $4.80 into $3.30.

Leg 1: 3,4,10,12,13.

Leg 2: 1,8,11,14.

Leg 3: 2,4,6,7,9.

Leg 4: 3,5,8.

$60 gets you 20%.

Selections

Race 1: 3,6,4.1. Boom Boom Epic handled her first go at this trip pretty well in handicap grade at Doomben so should be right in this back to a BM85.

Race 2: 2,3,6,1. Astro Toy Boy has been good at his two starts to date and 1400M distance will suit.

Race 3: 1,6,2,4. Best Bet. Morendi

Race 4: 1,5,7,3. Boom Chicka Boom led and beat both Stellar Power and Power Command and from the red draw should be able to control the race again.Back to 900M should favour him ahead of the others also.

Race 5: 4,13,5,8. With so much speed in the race this might come down to who gets the luck and tucks in behind the pace. Cabeirian fresh could cause a surprise.

Race 6: 3,4,10,13. Langhro was sharp in a recent trial and looks well placed in this Class 3. Even though he is now a 7 year old, he has been lightly raced and draws to box seat. Dual acceptor.

Race 7: 11,1,8,14. Value Bet. Twilighter.

Race 8: 4,6,2,7. Tardis formline looks good through Epic Girl who backed up and won a Class 6 last Saturday.

Race 9: 3,8,5,7. Handsome Thief can position up better this time from barrier 4. Stormed late behind the talented Tarzan.
