Race 4, No. 3 HOTHAM VALLEY
Bit strange having a best bet that has drawn barrier 18 and hasn't won a race in 8 starts, but this is a really weak race and this guy has competed in some really strong maidens and run well. Loves a wet track having recorded 3 minor placings from 4 goes on rain affected surfaces, this is his chance to finally break through.
Race 6, No. 8 SHE'S ALIGHT
Big fan off this 3yo Tavistock filly, got the job done to break her maiden last time out and gets an extra 100m today. The Tavistock breed, generally like the wet tracks, so that should be to her liking today and with the claim for Emma Stent, she'll get in nicely with 55.5kg. Beautifully drawn and at the $11, she's a great each chance.
Grant and Alana Williams are absolutely low flying, they have saddled up 10 winners from their past 18 runners at an incredible 55% strike rate. They have the two runners today, Showmanship ($1.80 in the 2nd race) and Zaratite ($2.70 in race 5) to add to their tally.
Race 2, No. 7 SHOWMANSHIP
First starter from the Williams yard, has trialled up 5 times leading into this race, so they've obviously been working on something. His last trial looked very professional and the punters agree, he opened at $2.10, he's now as short as $1.75.
Leg 1: 1,3,5,6,7,8,9
Leg 2: 1,4,6
Leg 3: 2,4,5,6,7,8,9
Leg 4: 1,2,3,6,9,12
Very wide quaddie today, $88 will get you 10%. If you want a shorter quaddie, go thinner in the last leg with 2,9,12
Race 1: 3,5,10,1 (Tricky race to kick things off, Gotta Motor was excellent on debut, if he handles the track he'll be right in the finish)
Race 2: 7,4,2,3 (First starter for Peters Investments, has trialled up really well and the money is there to suggest he's ready to go on debut)
Race 3: 5,2,9,4 (Classy Lassy was exceptional on debut, if she can repeat that performance on wet track, she'll be mighty hard to beat, Blackenberge is a knockout hope at a massive price)
Race 4: 3,1,10,9 (BEST BET)
Race 5: 2,5,7,6 (Maschino Miss is absolutely flying this time in, loved the soft track last time out, if she handles the heavy 8, she'll win)
Race 6: 8,1,5,6 (BOLTER)
Race 7: 6,4,1,8 (Good little sprint race, Truly Belong loves the cut out of the track, Amelia Argot is racing really well and is well weighted with the McNaught claim)
Race 8: 4,9,7,5 (Wide open race here, Playing Marika won her first three and looked to return to a bit of form last time, go wide in the quaddie though) out
Race 9: 2,12,9,1 (Another wide open race, a few of these have seen wet tracks, which helps, San Crispino a place is a bet I'm really keen on, never wins, but is consistent)
