Ascot - Saturday November 10

  • Rail Position: Out 6m
  • Track Conditions: Good 4
  • Track Comments: Rail out only slightly, so expecting the track to play very fair.

Is starting to test the patience, as I've had him as my best bet the last 3 times his raced, for you guessed it, 3 seconds! Didn't get a lot of luck last time out, when running second to the talented Unikat, who goes around in the 3yo stakes race earlier in the day. Draws to do no work from barrier 1 and with luck I think he'll beat this lot.

Race 2, No. 7 REGAL MOON

Always been a fan of this mare, she always puts in and is super consistent. Has good stats at the track and distance and can't quite understand why there is such a big price discrepancy between her and race favourite In Love With Paris who basically finished next to each other last start. Will hopefully position slightly closer in the run here from barrier 7 and give us a really good shout for our money.

Jockey Chris Parnham has made an immediate impact on his return to WA. He currently sits second on the Ascot Premiership behind William Pike on 7 wins from 34 rides at a strike rate of a tick under 21%. He has a full book of 8 rides on the card.

Race 1, No. 1 PABLO'S POEM

Punters are happy to forgive his last start defeat as favourite, draws to get a much better run and the punters have sided with him, $3.50 into a clear $2.70 race favourite.

Leg 1: 1,4,5,7,9,10

Leg 2: 1,8

Leg 3: 1,2,3,4,5,6,8,10,13

Leg 4: 2,4,7,8

$86 gets you 20% (If you like Enticing Star, go one out to trim down your costs)

Race 1: 1,3,8,5 (Pablo's Poem just got too far back from the gate last time out, shouldn't happen again from barrier 5, cautious of Driftstar who bounced back last time out)

Race 2: 7,2,9,4 (BOLTER)

Race 3: 3,1,4,2 (With Mississippi Delta purely due to Salon Du Cheval getting right up in the weights, expect them to fight it out though)

Race 4: 8,4,7,6 (Pike chooses this guy over the mare Showcase, which is a nice push, was a pretty easy winner last time out and I can see a repeat occurring here)

Race 5: 4,1,10,9 (Lottery of a race, plenty of these are racing well and can't really knock their chances, go wide in the quaddie)

Race 6: 8,1,3,2 (What a race, we probably see WA's three best horses, Enticing Star, Scales Of Justice and Great Shot fighting it out, can't tip against Enticing Star, but if Scales of Justice is back to his best, look out!)

Race 7: 2,4,1,13 (Getting hard and harder to pick these 3yo races, Chix Pix continues to be the most consistent of them, so happy to have him on top)

Race 8: 8,4,7,2 (BEST BET)
