Been running well all prep but just needs to be taken back through his grades at the lower benchmarks first which they finally tried here and he arguably should have won in a luckless performance when inconvenienced by a tiring Stormy Shore but picked up superbly late when it was all over. Going far too well to not be winning one soon.
Race 7 - (1300 METRES) - DECLARATIONOFHEART - 2nd. Trainer: Anthony Freedman.
Needed a longer tow into the finish after a few died on their run that he had the back of where the winner had the breaks and this 3yo just doesn't have that turn of foot at this trip to win from there. Nonetheless a solid fresh hit-out for this now gelding in a decent BM70 against older opposition and I think he needs at the very least a mile and maybe further. Derby campaign?
