The John Sargent three year old's have a habit of coming into their own as the distances increase with the Group 1 winning trainer saddling up two last start winners for this Saturday's Group 3 Frank Packer Plate over 2000m at Royal Randwick.
House Of Cartier is a classically bred NZ mare by Alamosa and out of a star NZ staying mare in Shez Sinsational (4 time Group 1 winner including an Auckland Cup) whilst the 35/1 stable mate Home Win, a $240,000 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling purchase is a full brother to the 2015 Galaxy winner Sweet Idea and dual group victor Showtime. Differing bloodlines with separate targets in mind going forward.
"We had House Of Cartier set for the Oaks last week but her blood wasn't right and this is a nice back-up as she did relish the step up to 2000m last start." Sargent said.
"All going well, she will head to Queensland Oaks as her target now."
"Home Win likes to roll forward and although will probably have to hand up the lead to Amangiri, the pattern of this race could suit him and we're looking at the South Australian Derby as a possibility if he shows enough on Saturday."
Sargent's chances for Saturday don't end there, though with Crystal Falls taking her place in the Group 1 Champagne Stakes with her trainer optimistic despite needing a bit to fall her way.
